Lee D'Angelo Co-Founder, Tattoo Artist
Director of Marketing & Sustainability 2019 - 2026
Lee D'Angelo is a queer tattoo artist who has been working professionally in the tattoo industry since 2016. Seven years of industry business experience, combined with their passion for social and environmental activism directly shaped their role in founding the company. Before Good Judy Inc., Lee's tattoo businesses participated in fundraising and protesting for environmental justice, but the plastic garbage produced from tattooing weighed heavily on their conscience.
The idea for an eco-responsible tattoo supply company came to Lee in 2018 when they were the co-owner of a busy tattoo shop. Noticing the volume of plastic garbage the shop created, Lee tried to source better solutions but found there were limited options for tattooers. While experimenting with several different biodegradable and compostable products Lee shared the concept of an eco tattoo supply company with Ryan Hanna during a tattoo session as he was a long-time client with a strong entrepreneurial background. Together Lee and Ryan co-founded Good Judy Inc. in 2019.
In 2019 Lee named the company 'Good Judy', a term of endearment used in the LGTBQ+ community to refer to a friend you deeply trust. Lee wanted the company to be a good friend and ally to the planet and chose that name to reflect the eco-values that Good Judy Inc was founded under. In this context a 'good Judy' is anyone who is trying to be a friend to the earth by making more eco-responsible choices. In 2026 Lee transitioned their shares in Good Judy to Ryan and is now pursuing sustainability work in other industries; they remain an active tattoo artist and sustainability advisor for Good Judy.
Good Judy is extremely grateful for Lee’s founding vision and advocacy towards a more sustainable future for the tattoo industry.
